My practice mainly revolves around the idea that nothing is only one way. To exist is to contradict oneself, over and over again. But there is a sense of peace, and empathy, in knowing that there will always be more than one truth. I explore themes of vulnerability, identity, spirituality, femininity, and most importantly, tension.
I take lots of inspiration and pleasure from humanness; truly listening to and learning from others lived experiences, highs and lows, seeking to amplify stories that have been overlooked or silenced.
Language itself tends to plays a central role in my work: fragmented, poetic, and often confessional; I treat text as both material and message, using it to unearth what is often hidden. Soft rage, buried longing....
...maybe both...
.....maybe at the same time
